The PIONIR 1024 and MVP systems can simultaneously measure multiple chemical and physical parameters for hydrocarbon streams, typically in less than one minute. The PIONIR can be configured for continuous unattended operation on a blend header or on an individual process unit, or can be used to make measurements within a laboratory setting.
Multivariate calibration techniques are used to develop models that relate the PIONIR spectral data to the approved analytical method, typically the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) method. Outlier statistics are used to insure that future samples analyzed with the PIONIR are statistically similar to those used to calibrate the system. The outlier detection features are critical for the reliability of the measurements. The PIONIR typically achieves an accuracy close to the ASTM methods with the benefit of significantly improved precision.
