Process Mass Spectrometers » Multiple Gas Analyzer iSCAN » Software

Cypress software is the operating interface for the MGA iSCAN. Based on a Windows NT operating system, Cypress is an intuitive, menu-driven graphical user interface that allows the user to easily program the system configuration by pointing and clicking.

Cypress software allows the operator to configure the entire MGA iSCAN system including the sample system configuration, calibration utilities, and communication protocols. Alarming functions can be set with Cypress software and configured as outputs. The software can provide analog outputs for stream identification.

Cypress software allows the user to access extensive diagnostic analyzer information including power supply, electrometer offset, filament and vacuum status.

Cypress also performs Investigative Scan routines. Investigative Scan allows the operator to scan the full spectrum of the analyzer. A composite mass spectra is produced which then allows the user to search it for any unidentified peaks that could represent unknown compounds.

Cypress software is able to communicate to a DCS using several protocols. The standard protocol is an ASCII formatted serial output. As an option, 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC outputs and Modbus communication protocol can be provided.

New MGA 1200 upgrade opportunities

New service opportunity and replacement technology for the MIRAN 981 and 983

The MGA Story
The MGA product family was originally designed manufactured and supported from Hamilton Sundstrand's Pomona, California facility (formerly Perkin-Elmer) since 1975.

In 1996, Hamilton Sundstrand acquired the MGA Trademark and Tradename from Perkin-Elmer and reengineered the MGA 1200 and MGA 1600. More recently, we introduced the new MGA iSCAN, the most advanced process mass spectrometer available.
